Hello guys and welcome back to a hole new round of movie reviews with Movie Nerd, the place where you can be nerdy about movies.

I know, it has been a very long time since my last review, which was on the 8th of October of last year, which, come to think of it, it's a few months short of a year soon. Man, how time flies!

I had a lot of stuff going on in my life this past year that I had to put this passion project of mine on hold for a little while and, also, with the pandemic and movies being pushed back, I really did not have that much material to work with, at least not the sort of material that gets people interested and invested.

So, I am hoping, with all of these obstacles passed, to get back into the action and write, post, edit movie reviews for you to enjoy. Also, I am thinking on making kind of a separate section, in which I can review games because I also became a gamer in this period of time that I was off grid.

Having some reviews from past movies that I need to work on but I will start with a fresh new movie from Disney that I just actually saw a few hours ago and that movie is called Jungle Cruise.

As you know, this is one of the movies that got pushed back from last year to this year and it is based on a Disney theme park or ride, not quite sure. Before I get into the review, a bit of a synopsis for you guys:

  • Dr. Lily Houghton enlists the aid of wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff to take her down the Amazon in his ramshackle boat. Together, they search for an ancient tree that holds the power to heal -- a discovery that will change the future of medicine.

Seeing this movie, you will notice that it looks a bit similar with some other adventure/fantasy movies like The Mummy and it also has some elements from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

It has what would you expect from a Disney adventure movie. It has a lot of action sequences, it has some good comedy to it for everyone to enjoy thanks to the charms of it's cast, The Rock and Emily Blunt. Also, the chemistry between the two is one of the highlights of this movie, it works very well and that is, mainly, why the movie is so charming and fun to watch.

It's not as crafted as the others that I mentioned a bit earlier plus is not very original but you can move past that because it's a feel good movie, where you can escape and really enjoy the adventure.

Overall, it's a movie for all ages, a movie that you can see with your family and the kids and the parents will enjoy. It's funny, action packed family adventure that you can have a really good time watching. Yes, it's like a softer version of The Mummy but, if you like that movie, you will definitely enjoy this one as well. 7/10

OK guys, that was my review for this one. I hope that I can bring you more in the months to come, some old movies that have already been released and I have seen but not quite got the time to put together some reviews for them but I will try and post them as soon as I can. Plus, I will keep going with the new movies, with hopes that we will not experience another movie push back phase, as well so we will be juggling with old and new for a period of time.

Until then, take care, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!
