Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews, quarantine edition, with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies, even in a pandemic:)))

So, because we are forced to stay home because of this outbreak, this is day I don't really know anymore for me, because I kinda lost count and the movies are canceled and movie theaters are all closing, I will still provide content by watching movies at home and give you my take on them.

Before I begin my review for this movie that came out on the streaming services and VOD, I just want to give you a bit of an update, if you are not caught up to speed yet, on the situation involving the movie industry. Hopefully, with the beginning of June, movie theaters will be reopened but, unfortunately, the most close important movie is Tenet, the new movie from Christopher Nolan, coming out this July so I have no idea what movies will be played if the movie theaters open in June. From all the information that I have, it seems that some movies have begin filming again so we are heading in the right track, hopefully.

So, with that out of the way, I shall begin the review with a bit of a synopsis for you guys: The film centers on Capone after his 11-year sentence at the United States Penitentiary, as he suffers from neurosyphilis and dementia while living in Florida.

As you can see, the movie is focused on the last year of Capone's life, showing us the vulnerable and fragile state his mind was at that time, before ha past away. My opinion was and I might be wrong about this and I know that other movies exist about Capone and his years of terror, murder and mayhem but I would have like to have seen the glory days of Capone because I was not born when those old movies came out many years ago.

The director for this movie was Josh Trank, the guy that did the amazing Chronicle and then he cocked it up with the Fantastic Four movie or Fan4stic. I was a bit surprised that he directed this movie, which is not that bad but is not very well constructed, with scenes that have no tension or suspense and are put there only to stretch the run time a bit more. There is no linear story or something that should resemble something linear. The pace is very slow, there is not a lot happening, there are bits that are really boring and not that entertaining.

Make no mistake, there are some good things to about this movie, for example, the performances, especially Tom Hardy as Capone, which is a very challenging role to do but Hardy really sinks into the character and becomes Al Capone. Linda Cardellini is also great, there are some scenes that really builds up a bit of tension and suspense and a bit of a mystery as well.

Overall and unfortunately, the movie's wrongs out weigh the movie's goods, even with Hardy's fascinating performance, the movie stumbles at nearly every single step. Plus, there are a couple of scenes where you don't know if they were constructed to be serious or funny and ridiculous. If this were to come out in the theater, it would not have done well. 5.5/10

OK guys, that is my review for this one and I know, it's a bit hard to do a review these days, with very few movies to choose from. Next up, I am going to review the new Scoob! movie, which I hear is not that good. Until then, take care, stay safe, stay clean, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!
