Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews, quarantine edition, with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies, even in a pandemic:)))

Before I start this review, I would like to say that the feeling of going to see a movie at the cinema after 6 months does not compare with anything else, if you love movies and you are a moviegoer/movie reviewer like me. All the days that I watched movies on my laptop, this felt like a breath of fresh air. Plus, the movie was really good but more on that in the following paragraphs.

Before I begin, a little synopsis for you guys: the plot follows a secret agent (Washington) as he manipulates the flow of time to prevent World War III.

Since this movie was announced and Robert Pattinson declared that this was a movie as big as 3 movies combined into one, I was very interested to see it and to discover the reason why it was so special, more even than other Christopher Nolan movies. And a couple of nights ago I got my answer which was not as impressive as I was expecting but still had the power and imagination to keep me invested in the story, characters and visual effects.

First of all, let's talk about the story, the plot. Some will find the plot confusing and full of questions that need answered but, I can guarantee it that, when the movie reaches it's boiling point, all of the questions will be answered, in some form or another. Of course, even than, some will still struggle to understand it but, like Pattinson's character says, ''you don't need to understand it, you just need to feel it'', a line addressed to Washington's character but, also, to us, the public, as well.

Second of all, let's talk characters. Washington's character does not have a name, we don't know very much about him, not much of a backstory given to him but that is what makes him a more interesting character, with a more rewarding arc and character development. Pattinson's character is another story, he reminds you a bit of Kyle Reese from The Terminator, ready to sacrifice himself to save the hero of the story. Also, all of the actors give incredible performances, especially Kenneth Branagh, which nails the Russian accent perfectly.

Third and last, let's talk special and visual effects. I think this is why Pattinson declared that this movie is as big as 3 movies combined because of it's length, which is a bit exaggerated, even for a sci-fi movies that deals with time travel and also it's incredible visual and special effects. The movie is visually dazzling, with some very effective camera work, incredible editing and top notch special effects as well that give a sleuth of incredible action set pieces and sequences, especially the third act of the movie.

Overall, the does feel like a summer blockbuster, a visual treat but it is also a cerebral piece of cinema that really pumps up your neurons trying to understand it. Plus, in some instances, it reminded me of Inception and, also, Matrix Reloaded. It proved to be a spectacle for the eyes and for the brain, a spectacle that only Nolan can deliver. 8.2/10

OK guys, that was my review for this one. Next up, should be The New Mutants, which I hope I will see on Thursday night. As for the review, maybe during the weekend or some time next week. Until then, take care, stay safe, stay clean, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!
