Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews, quarantine edition, with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies, even in a pandemic:)))
So, because movie theatres are still closed but hopefully not for long, I still try to find some new movies or content to write about and post and I stumbled upon this animated movie from the DC animated universe that also contains Justice League Dark, which I saw but I will not write anything about it because I thought this follow up was much better so I've decided to review this one instead.
Before I begin, a little synopsis for you guys, just to get familiar with the story: In the film, the Justice League,Justice League Dark,Teen Titans and the Suicide Squad team up against Darkseid in one epic final battle to save Earth.
So, this is a separate universe from the live action movies but, what I can say is that Batman v.Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League should have been this movie. Make no mistake, I liked the first one, mainly the Ultimate Edition version and seeing now that the Snyder Cut version for the Justice League will be released on HBO Max next year, there is still hope yet for that universe to start again or continue.
This animated movie has everything for everybody, plenty of action, a well crafted story and features an awesome final confrontation between our heroes and Darkseid, which is worth the wait. It's duration is perfect for what it is and what it has to offer. Also, the movie is rated R so there is a good amount of violence and graphic imagery, thinking that keeping your kid from watching this would be a very good idea.
Overall, it was a very fortunate stumble that I came across this movie, just for the taste of seeing something new, from this year because, lately, I did a bunch of re-watches of movies from years past that I was craving for something new. I was satisfied by the end result and I would also recommend to see Justice League Dark which is also a good movie but, I would say that this one is a bit above it, in quality, pacing and story.
OK guys, that was my review for this one. Next up, a piece of garbage from Netflix, The Last Days of American Crime. Watch how a review morphs into a rant, which will be my first. Until then, take care, stay safe, stay clean, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!
