Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews, quarantine edition, with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies, even in a pandemic:))) So, because we are forced to stay home because of this outbreak, this is day I don't really know anymore for me, because I kinda lost count and the movies are canceled and movie theaters are all closing, I will still provide content by watching movies at home and give you my take on them.

So, because Onward was released on Disney+ I saw it and I am here to give you my honest opinion on this latest animation from Disney/Pixar but first, a bit of a synopsis for you guys because I am nice like that:)): set in a suburban fantasy world, the film follows two elf brothers who set out on a quest to find an artifact that will bring back their deceased father.

We all know that Pixar has a track record of very good animations like Toy Story ( all 4 movies), The Incredibles ( both movies), Coco, Inside Out and others so, naturally, I expected this original idea to be a hit as well and it was but not as much of a hit as the others were. Why am I saying that? Well, because the magic, just to stay on track here, is not as present as it was in the others even though the movie is all about magic. It is not enough magic to dazzle you but it dazzles you with beautiful visuals, stunning animation, funny humor and a very heart felt and emotional story so it does follow the flawless formula that the studio has used all these past years.

The movie is all about family and the relations that we have or wished we had with them. Also, it's about realizing that even though times are tough, especially nowadays with this whole pandemic, there will always be someone there to help you on your way and support you, even though you don't know it yet. Plus, the ending was all kinds of special, it was very emotional, very heart warming, it does tug a little on your heart strings and it just might be what we need right now, something like that ending, hopeful but yet unexpected.

Overall, it may suffer a bit in comparison with the others in the Pixar portfolio but it does stand on it's own thru it's emotional story and it's adventurous spirit. 8.1/10

OK guys, that was my review for this one. Next up, Vin Diesel tackles yet another comic book character but hey, at least he is not a tree in this one, Blooshot up next. Until then, take care, stay safe, stay clean, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!#stayhome!
