Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews, quarantine edition, with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies, even in a pandemic:))) So, because we are forced to stay home because of this outbreak, this is day 14 for me and the movies are canceled and movie theaters are all closing, I will still provide content by watching movies at home and give you my take on them.

On today's agenda I will talk about the new and improved The Invisible Man but, before I dive into that, here's a bit of a synopsis for you guys: It follows a woman who, after the apparent suicide of her abusive and wealthy boyfriend, believes she is being stalked by him. She ultimately deduces that he has acquired the ability to become invisible.

Directed by Leigh Whanell, the guy behind Saw and the Insidious movies, I actually thought that this movie will be great, judging by its trailer and my thoughts were right because this was awesome, spine tingling and very well constructed. Who would have thought that an original source material can be made into an excellent reboot that was just lurking in shadows, hiding.

It is very well acted, very well paced, the movie's runtime is 2 hours but it goes by really fast because it moves at an alert pace but you can still enjoy it. It is smart written, the story being modernized for our times and not the same old story told again which was a nice touch from Whanell.

Leaving aside the great performances and the smart script, the movie is actually really scary because Whanell knows how to deliver scary well, with scenes full of tension and suspense that you could have cut it with a knife plus he uses jump scares which, not all of them work but some are used very wisely and with great effect. At some point, the movie shifts into psychological thriller territory, which was a nice surprise if you ask me.

Overall, I enjoyed this movie very much and the occasions are rare in which a reboot is a way better movie than the original but I'm glad that I got to see this because it was released online earlier with all of this pandemic going on and I immediately saw it. It is a perfect movie for you guys to see while you are #stayinghome! 8.2/10

OK guys, that was my review for this one. Next up, The Hunt is on so, until then, take care, stay safe, stay clean, stay at home and, as best as you can, be social distant from others. Stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing! Catch you on the flip side guys
