Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews, quarantine edition, with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies, even in a pandemic:)))

So, I was looking on Netflix to see what else is new and to find something new to review and I stumbled across this ''gem'' of a movie and now I just wished I didn't. It was so easy just to skip this one but I thought, hey, it's something new, let's give it a chance. I regretted that immediately.

Before I give you the answer to why I regret that I saw this movie, a bit of a synopsis for you guys: The Last Days of American Crime is a heist thriller set at some point in the future in an American city on the border with Canada. In this dystopian future, the U.S. government have found a new weapon to combat criminals: a nationwide radio signal, called the American Peace Initiative, short-circuiting the brain to block anyone who thinks of doing something illegal. If this made you think of Minority Report, then watch the Tom Cruise film again instead.

So I mentioned that this reminded me of Minority Report but it also reminded me of the plot from the movie The Purge and, so, it's like a mix between those two movies. Speaking of that would recommend to watch those movies rather than this one because this is some utter garbage and a real train wreck of a movie. Also, it's based on a graphic novel so I had a bit more expectations from this one, seeing that it's one of the top 10 movies on the streaming services right now and I don't understand why.

First of all, the length of the movie is ridiculous, it's 2 hours and a half for a generic heist movie that it's first 2 hours is just preparations for the heist and the remaining minutes is the heist itself, which is not worth the wait because it is done in like 10 minutes or even less. Not even the fact that the heist is done very quickly but it's also without any resistance from the police or barely and it's uneventful. Or boring, is another word that I can think of.

Second of all, everything is trash in this movie. The story sucks and it's unoriginal, the plot is weak, the script is awful, the dialog is very cringe and bad, the performances are stiff and unnatural, the action is fairly satisfactory and there is some violence that kinda goes against what's happening in America these days, with the police killing George Floyd, being on of the reasons that this movie was panned by critics and the public as well.

Thirdly, I started hating this movie after 5 minutes because I knew it was going to be bad and I was right, it was very bad. The pacing is very slow, the movie is dragging it's feet along the way, moving heavily to barely hit it's 2 hours and a half mark but, when it does, you will feel like it has been like the double amount of that. Also, did I say that the movie is boring? A movie based on a graphic novel, which has the title that it has, featuring the word crime is boring. I think I said that before but I will say it again. It's very predictable, very cliched and with a twist that you can see from a mile away.

You are not invested in anything that this movie offers you, if any. You are not invested in the characters, you are not invested in the story. Basically, this movie has no right to even exist. It was a waste of time, from my part.

Overall, it's one of the worst movies that I have seen this year, so far. Also, one of the worst action movies that I have seen in my life, so far. It's bad, bad, bad and it annoyed to my core. 2 hours and a half of my life wasted with this piece of garbage. If you come across this movie on Netflix, please skip it, if you value your time on this planet please skip this movie! 2/10

OK guys, that was my review for this crap of a movie. Next up, a bunch of reviews are coming for Scoob!, Da 5 Bloods and Artemis Fowl, which I hear that it's a huge miss for Disney+. Until then, take care, stay safe, stay clean, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!
