Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies and that's OK with it!
So, it has been a bit of a long stretch of time since my last review but I have been dealing with some personal and professional problems and I could not find the time to bring myself together and write one review. Since I have a bit of a brake from my problems, I thought I could share my opinion about the continuation of the Breaking Bad series, although this review comes a bit late since the movie came out 2 weeks ago.
I am a huge fan of the Breaking Bad series and, when I heard that they were making a movie that was a direct continuation of the TV show, I was very excited. More so, after I saw the trailer.
Before I dive in, a bit of a synopsis for you: The plot follows what happens to Pinkman following the events of the series finale.
Short and sweet. The synopsis for the movie but not the movie itself because the movie has a very slow pace, not much going on and there is very little action and tense scenes. For most of you, the movie may be boring, uneventful and if you haven't seen the series before the movie, confusing.
Being a fan of the TV show, I appreciated this movie for what it was trying to give me but, unfortunately, I felt that the need for this movie was not that necessary. I understand that, most of it, it was made especially for the fans and to give Jessie a kind of a redemption story and a fitting ending for his character, which they accomplished, in my opinion.
The choice for the title of the review can be explain very simple: Jessie is like a Christ figure in this movie and we were witnesses to his resurrection. Also, Aaron Paul's performance was one of the good things about this movie because the guy gives it all that his got and more. Plus, some little cameos from other actors of the series was the cherry on top.
Overall, this movie, which, by the way, barely qualifies as a movie because it feels like 3 more episode from the series combined into one another. It does not feel like a movie and that may be a good thing. It was satisfying enough. I enjoyed it, I understand it's existence but the need for it not so much because the ending of series was more than perfect. But hey, that's just me. 7.1/10
OK guys, that is my review for this one. Next up, the Zombieland sequel. Until then, take care, stay movie nerdy and keep on reviewing!
