Hello guys and welcome back for another round of movie reviews with Movie Nerd, a place where you can be nerdy about movies and that's OK with it!

So, because Spider Man: Far From Home is coming out this weekend, I have decided to give you all my honest opinions on all the other Spider Man movies that came out in previous years, starting, of course, with Sam Raimi's trilogy.

A bit of a synopsis for you, in case you are not familiar with the character: Spider-Man centers on student Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) who, after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider, gains superhuman strength and the spider-like ability to cling to any surface. He vows to use his abilities to fight crime, coming to understand the words of his beloved Uncle Ben: "With great power comes great responsibility."

With great power, comes great responsibility! Man, it's a great line and very thought provoking. But I'm not here to talk about this line but the actual movie as a hole. Before the MCU and before Spider-Man was even a part of it, we got the first live action appearance of everybody's favorite web crawler in 2002, with Sam Raimi as director and starting Tobey Maguire. I was so happy when I found out, I'm a big Spider-Man fan, that I got a ticket on the day it was released. And that was my first theater experience.

So, the movie is excellent. It combines very well the web swinging action with a good amount of heart, emotions, some humor and very good performances, mainly from Tobey Maguire.

The special effects, now look a bit dated and not very good but I don't mind that, as long as the movie is good. Alongside the first "X-Men", it started the whole superhero movie madness that we have today.

I would have liked the humor to be more present plus the Green Goblin's costume is just not working. It's an origin story that was original at the time but now it's common knowledge.

It's a story about discovering you're true purpose on this world, about love, friendship and what is like being a hero and what makes a hero, the choices he has to make in order to protect the people that he loves.

Great movie, with some editing mistakes, great action, awesome soundtrack with a kick-ass theme song by Danny Elfman, great performances, J.K.Simmons does the best portrayal of a comic book character ever and overall a well done movie. 7.8/10

OK guys, that was my review for this one. Spider Man 2 comes next.
